So far, 2018 has been an important year for the Formlabs: the manufacturer of 3D printing machines has managed to raise its valuation to the "unicorn" mark of $ 1 billion. Such a label needs the right employer branding to match. In a workshop with the Formlabs office in Berlin, we set out to find what the right employer branding strategy would look like.
Here is what Formlabs thought of their workshop with us:
"The i-potentials team gives you a very structured overview about best practice in employer branding and knows how to inspire teams in working towards achieving their employer branding goals. The consultant understood very quickly where our company stands and what our challenges are and gave us a very good overview of current trends and what we could accomplish short, middle and long-term." (Anna Laszlo, Recruiter at Formlabs Berlin)
Formlabs is a 3D printing technology developer and manufacturer, that was founded in 2011 by three MIT Media Lab students. The company develops and manufactures desktop 3D printers and related software and consumables, and in its early years quite successfully used crowdfunding campaigns to raise funds. Formlabs is headquartered in the states but has developed its European presence since 2014 through its offices Berlin and Hungary.
i-potentials builds people strategies for companies that have set out to define the age of innovation. To us, employer branding is a vital part of that. Every company has got an employer brand - whether you planned for it or not. It's what candidates and employees say about your company. It isn't about motivational posters on the wall. It is about asking yourselves "What do we stand for as an organization?". It is about defining your Employer Value Proposition and the experience you want to design.
