The Berlin-based executive search and organization consultancy i-potentials expands its partner level: since March 1st, 2019, Katja Bauer is a partner at i-potentials. As an experienced HR expert, she has previously been in charge of building professional HR structures and expanding international teams across the German digital economy with leading positions at Zalando, Jamba, and most recently Flaconi.
With this addition to the partner level, i-potentials is set to combine broad and diverse knowledge about recruitment and leadership in the digital age from organizations in various maturity stages. i-potentials founder Constanze Buchheim built the HR division for the German e-commerce company Spreadshirt; Managing Partner Martina Weiner previously was Chief of Staff at the Berlin-based company builder Team Europe.
“When it comes to HR strategy German companies have their work cut out for them in order to get ready for a digital future", says Katja Bauer. “A partnership at i-potentials was the logical next step next for me, having collected expertise HR knowledge in the growing digital economy for years. I'm convinced that we can leverage the potential of more traditional companies by translating HR practices from strong innovation companies to their context."
The extension of the partner level at the recruitment consultancy is mainly due to the massive growth in demand from organization leaders in the DACH region who need to rethink their HR strategy in the face of digital transformation and new growth areas. This trend is mirrored in i-potentials client base which not only comprises hyper-growth digital companies such as Celonis, smava or kununu, but also digitally transforming SMEs and listed corporations such as adidas, Bertelsmann, or the Otto Group.
Companies need to succeed in the digital labor market
In this market development, executive search is not just about placing individual C-level profiles. The demand for candidates with digital skills - be it in specialist or leadership roles - massively exceeds the supply. Organizations of all shapes and sizes are feeling the pressure to overhaul their recruitment and leadership structures to fit this new environment:
“Managing directors and C-suites understand that in order to succeed in the digital age their companies need to succeed in the digital labor market", says Constanze Buchheim, founder, and managing partner at i-potentials.“Therefore, we are particularly happy to have Katja on board as a pragmatic partner who is well-versed in modern HR issues. Due to her experience, she is capable of navigating clients through difficult candidate markets and she can take a holistic approach to HR strategies."
Within only 10 years after its foundation, i-potentials has grown from being a recruitment agency for the emerging German start-up scene to becoming one of the leading executive search and organization consultancies for digital endeavors in the German economy. Ranked as one of the 3 top digital executive search consultancies by the business magazine Wirtschaftswoche three years in a row, i-potentials has also been named Headhunter of the Year 2018 in the category Executive Search Boutique and won the HR Excellence Award 2018 as an outstanding service company.
